Pantone’s 2017 color of the year, Greenery, is about the power of springtime and nature’s greens to revive, restore and renew. The cycle-of-life allusion strikes a chord for me as I lost a parent this month (Milt Kaye, founder of GDUSA and former publisher of PRINT) and was blessed with a new granddaughter named after my late mother June. On a more practical basis, the Pantone color of the year impacts, in the first instance, fashion and beauty and home decor. But it wends its way to graphic and package design soon enough, where Greenery can send an instant visual message of nature and freshness.
