NewPage has completed the acquisition of Stora Enso Oyj's North American paper manufacturing operations.
Raising financing for the deal in such a difficult credit market, said Mark A. Suwyn, NewPage chairman and chief executive officer, "speaks well of the soundness of the business combination, the quality of the management team and the strength of the support we've received from Cerberus and Goldman Sachs."
The combined product portfolio of NewPage and Stora Enso — which includes many wellknown grades and brands — positions NewPage as the largest manufacturer of coated paper in North America based on capacity.
