Lisa Lorraine, an art director, returns to Swanson Russell after working at the agency as a graphic designer and art director from 2001 to 2007. Justin Schnick also rejoins the firm as a graphic designer after his first stint with Swanson from 1999 to 2001. Ad agency SmithGifford hires Susan Kearney to the new position of Executive Vice President. Kearney has worked as Vice President of Marketing at Voxant, Inc. and as President and CEO of her own firm SalesTraction, with high-profile clients including Synygy, Webputty and Netuitive. Earlier in her career she was a member of the management team that rebuilt IRI Software and sold it to Oracle Corporation. Ron Salata joins Ambit Advertising and Public Relations as Senior Art Director. Previously, he was Senior Marketing Director for Ticket to Ride Travel, Minneapolis, where he created domestic and international travel media campaigns. He has also worked on campaigns for Nike, Calvin Klein, Disney and Office Depot, among others. Modadnock PaperMills, Inc. appoints James M. Clemente as Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Clemente began his career at Xerox and was most recently with MARKEM, a product identification firm specializing in marking, coding and labeling solutions for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Toth Brand Imaging adds Dan Winske as a Studio Artist to work on a variety of the agency’s accounts. Winske was previously a freelance designer in New Bedford, MA. See See Eye, a graphic design firm specializing in annual reports and corporate communications, hires Jennifer Peake as a graphic designer. Peake has handled merchandising for barnesandnoble.com and overseen e-commerce development for epicurious.com, a Conde Nast publication’s site. She also was a Senior Publicist for Simon & Shuster Publishers. Most recently, Peake completed graduate studies in graphic design at the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. Apollo Paredes joins international design agency LPK as Design Director in the Cincinnati, OH, offices. Paredes, a graduate of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, will lead the creative process and align internal teams with client expectations for LPK Product. Kurt Kretten joins Ready366 as Creative Director of the New York firm. Kretten was previously Creative Director at FutureBrand where he led major design and brand innovation with Johnson & Johnson, Diageo, Intel and MasterCard. He has also worked at LPK and ColemanBrandworx. Brandon Murphy, Bret Sano and Erin Fletcher, a trio who worked together for a combined 21 years at Squires & Company, have started their own graphic design firm. The former Creative Director, Associate Creative Director and Senior Account Executive respectively are now principals and co-founders of Caliber Creative, LLC in Dallas’ West End. Randall Wilkinson joins Van Winkle & Associates as a Production Artist. Wilkinson, whose experience spans production design, photography, film duplication and custom color and digital work, has worked on accounts for Business to Business and Hooked on the Outdoors magazines, Kellogg’s and Shimano U.S.A. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with focus on photography and commercial art, from The American College for the Applied Arts, now American Intercontinental University. Graphica hires Korey Ferguson as a designer, Randy Armentrout as production artist and Michele Butcher as an account executive. Butcher, who will oversee the Dayton, OH, company’s NewPage and Midmark accounts, worked previously at Sabatino/Day, Imagine Nation and David K. Burnap. Armentrout also worked at Sabatino/Day and David K. Burnap as well as Lochtefelds. Ferguson holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising and graphic design from the Columbus College of Art and Design. LPK promotes Gina Tesnar to Associate Creative Director from Design Director. A graduate of the University of Dayton, Tesnar is responsible for creative leadership on the Olay brand. Corder Philips, a strategic marketing communications firm, hires Kara Hollinger to its creative team, along with Steve Mast and Josh Abe in the interactive area. Hollinger was with Ginger Griffin Marketing & Design for five years previously and also served as events director for the AIGA board. She has a BSA in visual communications and photography from Purdue University. Brian Regienczuk has joined The Coca-Cola Company as Group Director, Design Management, after six years at Phillips Design where he consulted for brands including GM and The Home Depot. Marsh, Inc. of Cincinnati, OH, hires Jennifer Thompson as Senior Project Manager and Rhonda Hengehold as Project Manager. Hengehold, who previously worked for TOP Marketing USA in St.Louis, will be responsible for managing design projects for CKE Enterprises. Thompson, who was at RPI Graphic Data Solutions, is charged with client leadership and strategic development of brand solutions. Carol (Konkowski) Corson joins One Flight Up Design & Innovation, Inc. (OFU), bringing more than 25 years of packaging design and promotional experience working with companies such as Kellogg’s, Unilever, Breyers and Hershey. Corson, previously at Smith Design, has a BFA from Kean University. David Marsh also joins OFU with some 15 years experience with brands such as New Line Cinema and Sobe. Marsh has a BFA from State University New York - New Paltz. Mader Communications Group hires Scott Baitinger to head its creative team as Vice President/Creative Director for the strategic marketing communications firm based in Mequon, WI. Baitinger was previously Senior Art Director/Interative Creative Director at a Waukesha-based agency, where he worked on national campaigns for GE Healthcare and Kohler Company, among others. Pat Hansen will be Creative Director of the newly merged Hansen Design Company with MarketFitz, Inc., a decade-old marketing consulting firm based in Seattle, WA. Hansen will oversea the design practice and the transition of Hansen clients to the new combined company. The merger “made so much sense,” says Hansen. “Now we are part of something bigger, better and stronger.” Congdon & Company ups Roy Levitt to Principal of the brand strategy and design firm, from Creative Director. Prior to joining Congdon & Company in Greenwich, CT, Levitt held directorial and creative positions at Enterprise IG and Infinia Group. Curt Detweiler joins Ground Zero in Los Angeles, CA, as Executive Creative Director and Partner. Detweiler is best known for his long ties to Omnicom’s TBWA/ Chiat/Day. He served as a Creative Director on the Nissan business at the Playa Del Rey, CA, office before moving to TWBA/C/D New York to work on Mars.
