PEOPLETOWATCHCharlyne Fabi

Charlyne Fabi is Creative Director and co-founder of Right Hat, a marketing and design firm with offices in Boston and the Chicago area. Right Hat balances right and left brain thinking in its approach to design. It works with clients in developing a full marketing strategy as well as creating award-winning design and advertising. "Most of our work is full spectrum," explains Fabi, "We delve into critical client areas such as how clients should position themselves, what strengths they should leverage, and how to change perceptions both internally and externally to support a unified brand image. We rarely are tasked to just design a one-off brochure or ad."

Fabi's design career spans almost 18 years and includes positions in some of the most respected creative firms in the country. Her work has received recognition in both the design and marketing industries, including PRINT, HOW, ADDY Awards, GDUSA, Graphis, International Packaging, and the LMAs. She has a B.F.A in design from the University of Illinois and a M.B.A. from Boston University.

If you weren't a designer, what would you be? Well rested

What's the one thing ALWAYS in your bag that you never leave home without? iPhone

If you could spend 15 minutes talking to any person, living or dead, who would it be and why? Nick Drake, but really any artist who never got the chance to see just how much their creativity meant to others (Editor's note: Drake was an English singer-songwriter and musician best known for his acoustic, autumnal songs. He died of a drug overdose in 1974, aged 26, but now ranks among the most influential English singer-songwriters of the past 50 years.

If you could work for anyone, a client or on a project, what would it be? I would love to work with Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs on the next big thing.
