Cristina Martino-Devoto joins Avila Design, a Berkeley CA-based architecture and design firm, in the newly created position to lead marketing communications, including graphic design services for its clients. Martino-Devoto previously held graphic design and marketing communications positions at McCall Design Group, RYA design consultancy and at LVMH’s Travel Retail Division. She will be responsible for the company’s image and will support Avila and its clients graphic needs.

P3 (Partnership in Print Production) Luminaire Committee co-chairs Nina Wintringham and Gary Pawlaczyk announced the five recipients of this year’s Luminaire Awards to be presented April 2 at The Pierre New York. They are Brenda Barozzi, Senior Vice President, Director of Print Production DRAFTFCB; Lu Ann Binda, Director/Team Leader, Promotional Operations, Commercial Operations, Cue Content Process Workstream Leader, Pfizer, Inc.; Timothy J. McCabe, VP, Marketing and Production, Tiffany & Co.; Louise Morrin, VP of Production, Haymarket Media, Inc.; and David Orlin, Senior VP, Operations & Strategic Sourcing, Conde Nast Publications. The awards, now in their 22nd year, recognize the outstanding achievements and personal dedication of individuals in the print and production industry.

With the recruitment of Bill Allen as Head of Interactive Development, advertising agency Boone-Oakley, Charlotte NC, has initiated an inhouse interactive department, offering digital-based creative, strategic and media services. The department will be staffed by between seven and nine additional new hires. Allen was previously associate creative director at 22 Squared in Atlanta, with accounts including Toyota, BellSouth, Lincoln Financial and The Ad Council. He has a BFA from Georgia State University and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design.

YRG adds senior designer James Wigger and Jo Marie, senior project manager, to its brand-building team, based in Portland, OR. Wigger, previously with agencies in Portland, California and Prague, will partner with other senior designers at YRG to anchor the branding identity and advertising offerings within the creative department. Marie comes via tenures at both NORTH/JohnsonSheen and Wieden + Kennedy where she honed her experience in advertising and marketing on accounts such as Nike, Coke and PGE.
