Jenny Duchesneau and Thomas Bergeron are appointed to Art Director positions at Keene, New Hampshire Signaltree Marketing & Advertising, Inc. Duchesneau joined Signaltree in 2007 as a graphic designer and has designed print, packaging and web projects for all of the agency’s clients. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a Bachelors Degree in Visual Design. Bergeron also joined as a graphic designer in 2008. Prior to Signaltree, he designed for NuBank, Nederlander Concerts and S2 Design, all of central California. He has a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo.

Fast Company magazine is featuring Ken Carbone as a guest blogger. The well-known Principal of Carbone Smolan in New York City, will host the blog entitled “Yes to Less”, which will highlight design classics, personal favorites and a few latest and greatest that celebrate simplicity. The spectrum will be very broad and include graphics, industrial design, architecture, interiors, web sites, digital applications and curiously brilliant design solutions found in nature. “Yes to Less” will also feature a design rating scale of ***** equals Flawless, to * for clueless. Advertising veteran Ted Williams is risking his life to ensure that the thousands of women diagnosed with breast cancer each year won’t have to die from it. An Art Director at Dymun + Company in Pittsburgh, PA, Williams is taking part in an expedition known as Climb for Hope. It’s his second Climb for Hope expedition, this year scaling three peaks in Iceland. He hopes to raise $8000 this year for the breast cancer cause; the money raised goes directly to research for a breast cancer vaccine. Dorian Romer joins StockShop LLC, an independent stock photography agency in Boston, as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. She comes from Veer, where she held a similar position. Romer has exhibited her work nationally and has been published in many magazines and books, as well as having shot many CD covers. Her fine art work is represented nationally and she has an upcoming show in Connecticut.

Julia Sonder-Patchin is promoted to Executive Producer from Producer at San Francisco CA-based Phoenix Editorial. In the new role, she will oversee creative output across the editing and design firm, as well as its newly launched Bonfire motion design and integrated media subsidiary. This is the second incarnation of Bonfire, with Phoenix Editorial first launching the company in 2002 before eventually folding it into the parent company. Previously, the 18-year industry veteran Sonder-Patchin ran consulting and production company Desmo Creative and was an executive producer at Rough House Editorial and OneSixEight Design Group.

Tom Fugleberg, OLSON’s Executive Creative Director, has been chosen one of the Minneapolis-St.Paul Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” winners. Siegel + Gale hires Jacqueline Rhoades as Vice President of Business Development in San Francisco, where the firm recently announced an expansion in its business. “We now have a presence on the ground to help us service our existing clients and to cultivate new relationships with sister Omnicom agencies and brand decision-makers in San Francisco and throughout the West Coast,” says Alan Siegel, Chairman and CEO. Siegel + Gale has a full-service office in LA; Rhoades will represent the firm in Northern California. Rhoades was previously part of the launch team at proxy advisory firm Glass, Lewis & Co., where she was Vice President of Sales. She also spent more than a decade in the high-tech publishing industry working for IDG and CMP Media. She began her career fundraising for the Santa Fe Opera.

Bob Cagliero joins Manic, the NY-based studio for VFX — motion graphics and finishing services — as Managing Director. Cagliero’s credits include founder and principal of commercial production company East-West Films; senior producer at Ogilvy & Mather; and, most recently, executive producer at 89 Editorial.
