LPK, the largest independent brand design agency in the world, hires Gemma Tucker as Brand Director in the Geneva, Switzerland office and Jennie Huber as Quality Assurance Coordinator in the Cincinatti office. Tucker is responsible for managing Western Europe initiatives for LPK Kids. She is a graduate of the College for Distributive Traders in London and lives in Geneva. Huber, meantime, plays an integral role in the LPK Workflow processes for several brands, She is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University.

RiechesBaird, a brand creation and development firm that specializes in building the value of B2B companies, recently announced a merger with Dula Image Group. Michael Dula, founding principal, is joining RiechesBaird to lead the development and growth of its corporate design and identity campaign. Dula has more than two decades experience working with clients such as Paramount Studios, Viacom, MCA Universal and Howard Hughes Properties; his work has been recognized nationally and internationally and is featured in the Permanent Corporate Collection of the Museum of Art and Design in New York.

FunctionFox, a Victoria, BC, provider of time and tracking software for small creative companies, hires Kenneth James Hamer as a web designer. Hamer joins FunctionFox after 13 years experience as a senior graphic designer, motion designer and programmer. Most recently, he worked with Calgary-based Critical Mass, designing large-scale corporate websites and online advertising and brand solutions. In his new role, Hamer will focus on interface design and development, primarily creating simple interface solutions with user-friendly navigation.

Morsekode, an integrated creative marketing agency, promotes Paul Jongeward to Director of Brand Integration. In his new role, the five-year veteran of the Twin Cities, Minneapolis, firm will be responsible for strategic branding initiatives for clients that want to leverage attributes of the entire brand experience through multiple communications channels. Jongeward has some 13 years experience with agencies and clients; previously he worked at Haworth Marketing and Marketing Midwest.

Design Institute of Australia inducts CBX Asia/R-Co’s Richard Henderson into its Hall of Fame. Under his leadership, the firm — a member of the CBX Worldwide partnership — has received numerous graphic design and package design awards.

Newt Barrett joins NOISE as Digital Marketing Officer in a strategic partnership with the agency. He will team with NOISE staff in servicing clients throughout the US. The partnership is designed to expand and enhance the services provided by Forward/Slash, NOISE’S growing web brand development and web experience division. Barrett is an acclaimed marketing professional with more than 30 years of industry experience in traditional and new media marketing.

Fernanda Romano will soon join Euro RSCG as global creative director for digital and experiental advertising. This is a new role at the agency, at which she will collaborate with Euro RSCG’s creative departments worldwide from her base in London. Within about six months of her yet-to-be-determined start date, the firm says it plans to launch a startup with Romano at the helm. Romano is global ECD on the Nokia business at WPP Group’s JWT in London, where she has also contributed to efforts for Cadbury, Kellogg, Unilever, Nestle among others. Among her previous roles, she was also ECD at Lowe in New York, moving to Lowe in Spain in 2007.

Marcus Hewitt, the Chief Creative Officer of Dragon Rouge USA, will serve this fall on the jury for the London International Awards, in the areas of Design and Package Design. Hewitt has been in the industry for over 20 years; prior to joining Dragon Rouge he was CCO and a partner at Sterling Brands and, before that, he worked with Pentagram in his native London and helped establish the Michael Peters Group. Clients have included Burger King, Cablevision, The Getty Museum, The Hartford, Hasbro, Pepsi, Port Canaveral, SAP, and Unilever.

Marsh, Inc. hires JoAnn Barnes as Production Director. Formerly a Graphic Designer for Dunamis Imagery, she is responsible for designing print materials. She is a graduate of University of Cincinnati.

Julien Desgarceaux is promoted to Brand Leader at LPK in the Geneva, Switzerland, office. He has led several initiatives on the Western Europe Snack Team since being hired two years ago.

Steve Hartman, who heads Creativille, Edwardsville IL, reports that the firm will mark a decade of design by raising $10,000 for the Edwardsville Arts Center by curating “Impressed by Design: Letterpress in the Heartland,” at the Arts Center. Hartman plans on gallery and gift shop purchases, party admission, and general donations to reach the goal.
