Kat Madamba is a graphic design student with a concentration in motion graphics and web
design. A Jersey-girl at heart, she's been dreaming of making a dent on the world around her. In
high school, she attended the Academy of Allied Health and Science where she was immersed
in science and medicine with hopes of becoming a doctor. Although being able to make people
feel better made her happy, she soon discovered that it was art and music that truly kept her
going. With support from her peers, she applied to various schools to pursue a career in animation.
At Drexel, she began studying Digital Media and soon realized that it wasn't her animation
classes, but typography, that interested her most. With the help of her professors and peers,
she was encouraged to pursue design, and, now, this senior hopes to move to a bigger city
and discover where design can take her.
Oscar Wilde once said, "We're all living in the gutter, but some of us are gazing at the stars." It's been a long road of trial and error
to get to where she's at right now, but always looking forward and yearning to learn new things has kept Madamba's heart in the right
place. She's finally found a home where all of these interests may serve some purpose. Hopefully, someday soon, she'll be able to
remind the world to look up.
What made you decide to study design? Design the only thing that still lets me say what I want to say about anything and
everything in this world without having to utter a single word. It's one of the only professions that pushes to you learn a little about
everything every day and forces you to contemplate and reflect.
