STAKEHOLDERS REDEFINED

Through the decades, GDUSA has documented the transition of annual and corporate reports from purely financial documents to hybrid financial/vision statements to primarily marketing documents. The latest evolution emerges more clearly this year: reports are addressing their responsibility and impact of company-as-citizen to an increasingly broad audience that transcends traditional stakeholders to include community, city, nation, planet. And they are doing so in a way that places emphasis on integrity, clarity and simplicity in the core message. As the graphic designers interviewed suggest, this turn of events may well give the corporate report, which was arguably losing relevance in an age of instant communications, a new lease on life.
