DIRECTOR, BRAND AND DESIGN, WHITE & CASE

Robin Colangelo leads the in-house creative and production teams for White & Case, an international law firm spanning 26 countries. As manager of the global brand with nearly 20 years of marketing experience, Colangelo is responsible for visual identity touchpoints across traditional and digital media. Her talented, award-winning teams design and produce marketing collateral, websites, interactive communications, advertising, annual reports, new business pitches and client event materials from the firm’s New York City and Manila offices, which support the global network. Prior to joining White & Case, Colangelo developed a broad multimedia portfolio working at several agencies on TV, radio and corporate video projects, in addition to print promotions and direct mail.

Colangelo currently serves on the board of directors for InSource, facilitating roundtable events and managing the organization’s national sponsorships. She is also a member of AIGA. Her work and inhouse design expertise have been featured in industry publications and websites such as Graphis, GDUSA, MarCom and HOW.

Where were you born or grew up, where do you live, does this effect your design style or sensibility?
I grew up in Yorktown Heights, NY, and now live in Greenwich, CT, with my hubby and our dog. My early design influencers were my parents who taught me about the care and thought that goes into the design of a home, plus they dabbled in creative hobbies, which inspired me to play around with photography, painting and jewelry design. The process of making just about anything look organized and appealing to the eye has always been exciting and motivating for me.

If you were not a designer, what would you be doing for a living?
Interior Designer, Cheese Monger or Horticulturist

What is your greatest strength and weakness as a designer or design manager?
My weakness is falling into the never-ending cycle of multitasking. Someday my headstone should read: “I don’t have time for this!”
