PARSONS THE NEW SCHOOL FOR DESIGN
Danielle Hall was born in Toronto and moved with her family to Lausanne, Switzerland at the age of 13. Living abroad ignited her love for travel and culture and inspired a dream to study in New York City. She is currently a senior Communication Design student pursuing a BFA, and she lives in Brooklyn. Danielle delves into as many design disciplines as she can and thinks of herself as a hybrid designer. She even took a couple of processing courses! The more she learns, the more she finds herself gravitating towards the nerdier things. She is most passionate about typography. When not wearing her designer cap, Danielle’s favorite retreat is to Victoria Beach, a small car-less community outside Winnipeg, where she is still waiting on WiFi.
What have you gained from attending design school?
Once the technical process became natural, I was able to understand that design is about problem solving. I learned to have confidence in the process and not to fear the “fuzzy front end.” I have also learned to value the resources you have around you, and to be open about your process.
