New Kickstarter Wordmark Balloons

Fresh, News November 20, 2017 Ilana Greenberg
KICKSTARTERHEAD

Kickstarter, the funding platform for creative projects, has a new graphic identity thanks to a collaboration between the Kickstarter team and the design firm Order. The project includes a new logo and website design. The well-known green and black logo has been changed to a blend of the two colors into one — a black-green — while the balloon wordmark has a rounder and chunkier look.

The website is more starker editorial style than in the past, to emphasize content. Order principals are Jesse Reed and Hamish Smyth, former Pentagram-ers who are said to have used Kickstarter extensively, while the wordmark was drawn by Jesse Ragan to give all the letters equal weight.
