KANSAS CITY ART INSTITUTE
Isaac Carlos is characterized by passion and perspective. Having moved often in his youth, Isaac’s vision is guided by culture, experience, and a recognition of people’s lives, cultures and customs. He believes the versatility and overall adaptive qualities of graphic design provide the best way to express his life story as an immigrant child. Isaac’s design sensibilities are influenced by hip-hop, the psychedelic sixties, and a childhood spent in South Houston TX where he grew up with other immigrant children. In his senior year, Isaac is exploring the critical theory of The Spectacle in relation to how an individual develops internally. He hopes to educate people on the effects of colonialism, neoliberal capitalism, and the media on the oppressed, impoverished resources rich nations in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
