Thi Nguyen is an MFA communication design student and graduate teaching assistant. Her creative practice focuses on design for social innovation through multidisciplinary and systematic human-centered design. She’s fascinated about defining underlying problems and testing different design methodology to find a new approach or see the challenge from a different perspective. She is passionate about community, design for equity, environmental graphic design, and typography. Thi is currently working on her thesis – Designing for Human Connection – and leading a Design for America (DFA) project, Facilitating Plastic Film Recycling in San Marcos.

Working on unfamiliar projects, which helps me figure out what kind of designer I want to be. In addition, I learn from fellow designers who are different and enjoy meeting people who are like-minded. The community, including my teachers, make me feel empowered.
