New NEA Logo Exudes Pride and Confidence

The new logo for the National Endowment for the Arts reflects the importance of the agency in giving all Americans the opportunity to participate in the arts.

The National Endowment for the Arts has updated its logo to reflect the importance of the independent federal agency. The old “Art Works” logo was seen as confusing and unclear, failing even to mention the name of the agency. Through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, the NEA supports arts learning, affirms and celebrates America’s diverse cultural heritage, and generally seeks to promote equal access to the arts in every community. The new logo was designed inhouse by the creative talent at the NEA, and is said to exude the pride and confidence of the work done by the agency, as well as the commitment that artists put into their own work.
