CF Napa Helps Brother Duran Fulfill His Mission

CF Napa bottle for Brother Duran evokes the early 19th century California missions.

A rich purple seal, with an original monogram in gold foil, sits atop the Brother Duran bottle courtesy of CF Napa Brand Design. The award-winning firm is credited with the logo and identity, graphics and branding, and the custom bottle design.

The design solution takes its inspiration from a grape-flavored brandy recipe developed by an actual missionary, Narciso Duran, while he travelled throughout California during the early 19th century. The bottle shape and evokes a vintage brandy decanter, and the monogram appears embossed on the glass, and on the label design accompanied by decorative type (including a tagline “Twice As Strong As the Brother’s Faith”) and detailed filigree in intense patterns on a black paper stock. Credits at CF Napa go to David Schuemann, Creative Director; Kevin Reeves, Design Director; and Antonio Rivera, Senior Designer. Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is the client.
