ChatGPT’s First Brand Campaign Captures Everyday Magic

OpenAI’s inhouse creative team, in collaboration with agency Isle of Any, developed a major brand campaign for flagship product ChatGPT. Videos show how the chatbot is useful in daily moments and creates ‘everyday magic.’ Humans are the makers but ChatGPT gets a creative credit.

A Growing Role in Personal and Creative Productivity

OpenAI is rolling out its first large-scale brand campaign for ChatGPT, signaling a strategic shift from event-based promotions to long-term brand building. The campaign highlights how users are integrating ChatGPT into their daily lives — from planning workouts to creating new recipes — and underscores the tool’s growing role in creative and personal productivity. The work will be seen across outdoor advertising, tv, streaming platforms, and social media in the US, UK, and Ireland.

Leading the creative charge are a pair of 30-second TV spots, ‘Pull-up’and ‘Cooking,’ that aim to show the breadth of people’s relationships with their ChatGPTs. They are described as simple, straightforward brand films depicting what a release calls the “everday magic” of using the bot.  Despite promoting an AI tool, human craft was central to the campaign. OpenAI’s in-house creative team developed it with agency Isle of Any, director Miles Jay shot the films through production company Smuggler, and photographer Samuel Bradley and stylist Heidi Bivins worked on the outdoor ads. The media agency was PHD. However, the teams used ChatGPT as a “co-creator” during the campaign development.

“With more and more people across the UK using and loving ChatGPT, we want to showcase how it can make your life easier and help you do more of what matters to you,” said Elke Karskens, OpenAI’s International Marketing Director.

The investment in long-term brand building marks a shift in the business’s approach to marketing, which has previously focused on one-off events, including its first Super Bowl ad in February. The branding push also arrives amid speculation that OpenAI is preparing to launch its own advertising platform. Rumors are the company is hiring a growth paid media marketing platform engineer to build internal tools for scaling marketing operations and ad spend efficiency — a move that could have implications for both media buyers and creative teams alike.
