Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv Creates Heroic Identity

Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv have designed a new identity for Course Hero, an educational online platform.

Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv has designed a new identity for Course Hero. The client is an educational online platform with a reported ten million users. On the site, students and educators share and access course-specific content, notes and study guides, tools such as sample quizzes and tests, and services like tutoring and interactive flashcards.

The new mark is an evolution of the previous identity. It carries over the idea of a shield, which is appropriate both for the concept of a hero and for higher education, but is now rendered and can be seen as an open book with a central star. The traditional Serif lettering, says Sagi Haviv, also helps add authority to the new identity.
