The American Graphic Design Awards™ is our flagship contest open to every­one in the community: design firms, ad agencies, inhouse departments, institutions, associations, freelancers, students and more. It honors outstanding work of all kinds — the best designs of the year — in print, packaging, p-o-p, internet, interactive, video and more. Winners receive an engraved and embossed Certificate of Excellence for each winning piece and are eligible for reproduction in the 58th Anniversary GDUSA Awards Annual in print, online, digital and mobile – seen by over 100,000 colleagues and clients each year.


There are two ways to enter, choose only one method of entry. Entries may be submitted by anyone involved in the creation or production or planning or placement of the work. Work entered must be created or produced or placed in calendar years 2020 or 2021.

Fill out one entry form for each entry you are submitting. Create a folder with all completed entry forms and up to 4 digital images per entry. Please zip the file and name it with your company name. Upload the zipped file, the upload link can be found at the bottom of this page. It is not necessary to mail in  hard copy if you enter online.

For entries in the categories of Internet Design or Motion Graphics, please supply images or screen captures in addition to a URL or .mov file.

For payment purposes, there are 3 options: You can (1) pay ONLINE via Credit Card or Paypal, the payment link can be found below at the bottom of this page OR (2) enter your Credit Card or other payment information on ONE of the entry forms only and no digital signature is needed OR (3) send a check via traditional mail or delivery service.


If you are entering online, ignore this step. If you choose not to enter online, you can send the actual printed piece by mail or delivery service. Fill in two entry forms for each submission you are mailing in. Attach one copy of the entry form to the actual piece itself and include the other copy with your payment information or check. We cannot return entry materials so do not send original artwork. Additionally, please provide one or two high-res digital files for each entry submitted on a flash drive or CD. Multiple entries from one company can all be submitted on the same flash drive or CD.

Again, for payment purposes, there are 3 options: You can (1) pay ONLINE via CREDIT CARD or PAYPAL, the payment link can be found below at the bottom of this page OR (2) enter your Credit Card or other information on ONE of the entry forms only and NO digital signature is needed OR (3) send a check made out to ‘Graphic Design USA’ via traditional mail or delivery service.


300 dpi Adobe Photoshop jpegs or tiff files are preferred BUT we will also accept PDFs. Images should be at least 5 inches wide and/or 5 inches high and CMYK. Adobe Illustrator files are acceptable with outlines created around the type. We do not accept Quark or InDesign files; please convert these file types to Photoshop jpegs or tiffs.

Winning entrants grant Graphic Design USA the right to reproduce the winning pieces in the GDUSA Design Awards Annual. Select winning entries may also appear on gdusa.com and in any and all materials and media produced for promotional purposes.
