I don’t need to tell you that flat minimalist logos are a trend: their simplicity fits easily into our quick visual world and their flexibility helps them work across media – including all important smaller-than-ever screens. Among the many news items we note below is that Volvo is the latest car brand to flatten its logo, joining Nissan, Audi, Toyota, Volkswagen, MINI, Citroen, Vauxhall among other auto companies in a hurry to do so.

5 Job Search Tips for Creatives Who Want to (Keep On) Working Remotely

TakeFive by RobertHalfIf the pandemic comes with a silver lining, it’s got to be making companies aware that their employees can work remotely and still be productive – and in many cases – more productive. Many professionals have decided that remote work is their preferred full-time option and have adjusted their job search strategies accordingly. In fact, 75% of respondents surveyed for the 2022 Salary Guide from Robert Half said they want to work remotely at least part of the time.

Is remote work on your radar? Here are some tips for finding the right position:

  1. Decide what your ideal work schedule looks like. Do you want or need to work from home full-time, or would a hybrid arrangement combining office and remote days meet your requirements?
  2. Consider your deal breakers and potential compromises. If you’re looking for a fully remote role and see your dream job advertised as hybrid only, would you consider it? Conversely, could you settle for a non-dream position that offers more flexibility?
  3. Filter your job search. Visit online job boards, keeping in mind not all sites are optimized for remote opportunities. Search for key terms like “100% remote” or “remote companies” to start with, then narrow the postings by your area of expertise.
  4. Don’t forget about organizational culture. A company could have a top-notch remote-work policy that meets all your needs and still be the wrong choice for you. Research a company thoroughly to assess whether their values and principles align with your own.
  5. Highlight your remote work skills. Once you’ve found the right role, use the application and interview process to promote the technical and soft skills that have made you successful in remote or hybrid situations, plus any previous working experience as part of a dispersed team.

What if you find the perfect position, but it isn’t remote? Visit the Robert Half blog for more remote job search tips.
