August 2024 Newsletter
While the pandemic may no longer be at top-of-mind, graphic design for health and wellness continues to be vitally important for individual and community. From empowering patients to building trust in healthcare providers and institutions, to breaking down stigmas, to promoting education and embracing diversity, putting design at the center of health — and health at the center of design — reminds us to prioritize our well-being and join the movement for a healthier society. We invite you to share your work by entering our annual Health+Wellness Awards (see below).

Never has it been so clear that health and wellness are of transcendent importance to our individual and societal well-being – as well as the epicenter of the national conversation and policy debate – and an area in which graphic designers have a vital role to play. Our annual competition has long taken in the big picture of healthcare — from traditional medicine to healthy lifestyles from physical to mental health from pharmaceuticals to medical cannabis from established practices to alternative solutions. This is a rare opportunity to be recognized by clients, colleagues, managers, and the community for design and marketing excellence. GDUSA has been publishing to and organizing competitions for the creative community for 61 years.

2024 GDUSA Top Design Schools
HIGHEST HONORS
It is time once again time for our annual list of favorite graphic design schools and programs that excel in teaching the hard and soft skills necessary for success, in nurturing talent and expanding minds, and in preparing the next generation of creatives for a dream career in the real world. The mix is unique: it includes, of course, the venerable institutions long dedicated to art and design; several notable university departments, programs and majors; and select innovative and flexible online or hybrid programs for graduate, undergrad or continuing education. The selection is based on objective and subjective factors, and is influenced by our own long relationships with designers, educators, hiring managers and recruiters. The list is alphabetical. The reach is national. The theme is growth: personal, professional, societal.
