Temple University
Located in Philadelphia, the Tyler School of Art & Architecture’s Graphic & Interactive Design and Illustration & Emerging Media programs offer some of the nation’s most respected BFA and MFA degrees in visual communication. Students develop skills in typography, image-making, UX/UI, motion design, AR, AI, and digital storytelling, preparing them for careers across print and digital media. Mentored by award-winning faculty, students take a conceptual approach to design while engaging in research, human-centered problem-solving, and social impact projects.
Tyler now offers a range of majors and minors: BFA in Graphic and Interactive Design – a foundation in design with cutting-edge tools for branding, UX/UI, AR, AI, and motion graphics. An MFA in Graphic and Interactive Design – advanced design research and creative practice for students pursuing leadership roles. A BFA in Illustration and Emerging Media – traditional and digital storytelling techniques for books, games, animation, and interactive media. And a BFA in User Experience and User Interface (UX/UI) Design – designing seamless, human-centered digital experiences. Minors in Graphic and Interactive Design, Illustration and Emerging Media, and UX/UI Design allow students from other disciplines to integrate creative skills into their studies. Students gain expertise in Adobe software, animation, prototyping, type design, AR, game development, and more.
Philadelphia’s vibrant creative scene and one of the nation’s largest AIGA chapters offer students real-world design opportunities, internships, and industry connections. Graduates work in top design studios, UX/UI firms, publishing, motion design, Fortune 500 companies, and entrepreneurial ventures. Based at Temple University, Tyler School of Art & Architecture provides access to more than 300 academic programs and the resources of an affordable, world-class art & design city.
