HOW Design Live 2017 Touches Down In Chicago

HOW Design Live, set for in Chicago May 2 - 6, is now open for registration!

By Diana Mosher, Content Director, HOW Design Live

When Mauro Porcini was hired in 2012 as PepsiCo’s first Chief Design Officer, he was tasked with infusing design thinking into the company’s culture across the globe. The results have been spectacular and new ideas keep getting rolled out all the time.

For example, in April PepsiCo unveiled “Mix It Up,” an immersive, interactive space at Milan Design Week that featured everything from a proprietary Pepsi emoji language to a Fiat Pepsi Car designed in collaboration with Lap Elkann’s Garage Italia Customs.

PepsiCo is just one of many prominent corporations embracing design thinking in a variety of ways that ultimately affect the bottom line. There’s never been a better time to be an in-house designer. Savvy agencies and solopreneurs are also riding this wave. So we’re making sure the conference program at HOW Design Live touches on this trend and provides insights from leaders in the field.

We’ve been working hard to put the finishing touches on an exciting new conference program. We thank our 2017 Program Partners Debbie Millman, industry legend and Founder and Host of the Design Matters Podcast, Andrew Gibbs, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of The Dieline, Ilise Benun, Founder of Marketing-Mentor.com and Zachary Petit, Content Director of the HOW + Print brands. Also, our 2016 partners Ed Roberts, IHAF Board of Directors and Andy Brenits, President of the Board of Directors at InSource are back as Program Advisors.

The new conference program is organized into three primary themes: marketing & strategy, branding & packaging and design & creativity. Sessions will focus more on the multidisciplinary and multiplatform type of work that’s being done rather than the work environment. You’ll still be able to create a conference schedule filled with sessions that address the unique challenges and opportunities of your particular work environment, but you’ll also find a program that addresses the evolving challenges and opportunities facing designers today and how to prepare for the role of design in the future.

You can register now on our new website. And please follow us on Twitter and like our HOW Design Live Facebook event page for the most current keynote and speaker reveals!
