WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL INSPIRED?

Everything! I am inspired constantly by everything going on around me. I am inspired by the good that is within the world because it gives me hope. I am inspired by the bad within the world because it motivates me to make a difference. Lastly, I am inspired by the beauty surrounding me because it causes me to slow down and admire what is right before me, then motivates me to create something of greater beauty. Life’s good, bad, and beauty captivates me daily.

WHAT AREA OR AREAS OF DESIGN ARE YOU HOPING TO WORK IN OR SPECIALIZE IN?

Honestly, I do not have one specific area I am interested in. I enjoyed my advertising internship and am enjoying exploring different areas of design, such as branding, packaging, UX/UI, and editorial design!

WHAT ARE YOU READING, LISTENING TO, WATCHING (BOOKS, MOVIES, TV, SOCIAL MEDIA, MUSIC)?

I am currently watching all my holiday favorites – Four Christmases, The Holiday, Miracle on 34th Street, Home Alone, Elf, and The Family Stone. One of my favorite Christmas traditions my family does every year is we all get one book in our stockings. Therefore, I am not currently reading anything, but I have been anxiously waiting to start this mystery book soon at the start of the New Year.

WHO IS SOMEONE YOU LOOK UP TO IN YOUR FIELD? EITHER TODAY OR HISTORICALLY?

I have always looked up to Paula Scher. I admire how she sees typography and uses it in a simple, relevant, yet iconic way. I also really look up to my professor, Genaro Solis Rivero. I am inspired daily by his passion and drive for graphic design. His encouragement and mentorship inspire me to be better and chase my dreams always, as there is always something new to discover within graphic design.

DO YOU CURRENTLY, OR DO YOU PLAN TO, DESIGN FOR ANY CAUSES OR CHARITIES?

I am not currently doing any design work for charities; however, I enjoy volunteering for two organizations, one with children and one with people with disabilities, that I could see myself potentially doing design work with if the opportunity ever presented itself
