CREATIVE DIRECTOR
AND/OR STUDIO, BROOKLYN NY

Kelli Miller is executive creative director and partner at And/Or. Kelli has worked in motion design and branding for over 15 years with entertainment networks and brands like HBO, MTV, Netflix, NBCUniversal, and the BBC. Her work has been featured in Art of the Title, It’s Nice That, CA, and Fast Company. In 2019, she directed content and worked on campaigns for FX, AMC, Spotify, Amazon Prime Video, Airbnb and HBO, including the titles for the original series The Case Against Adnan Syed. In 2018, she directed the original short film, “What Is Content?” and in 2016 she directed the rebrand of truTV, positioning it as a leader in creator-driven comedy. She has designed and directed film and tv titles for Elisabeth Subrin’s A Woman, A Part, Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women, and the HBO comedy series Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Kelli is a graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art and has taught and lectured at the College for Creative Studies, Pratt, NYU, SVA, Yale and RISD.

From co-founding her own design studio in a field that is sorely lacking in female leadership to teaching junior designers and animators at Pratt and NYU to boldly experimenting with humor and design, Kelli has been a consistent mentor and inspiration in the motion design community. Whether it’s calling out gender bias in a series of films for MTV’s pro social team, creative directing the show open for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, or creating the livestream graphics package and infographic videos for the March For Our Lives rally in March 2018, Kelli puts her personal convictions and “no-b.s.” approach into her work and relationships. She has created workshops on doing what you love and loving what you do, and spoken at events for AIGA, MICA, and RISD, all with a realistic, honest and clever approach to evaluating our industry and examining what it means to be a designer today.
