Graphic Design News Ideas Portfolio Max’s Cooks With Heat

Max’s Cooks With Heat

At 15, a simple trip to Mexico changed Max. Now he's spreading spice with Max's Hot Sauce and packaging featuring his name and face.

Max created Max’s Sauce at 15 years old, after a life changing trip to visit his family in Mexico. He became obsessed with cooking and launched his first company at the age of 16.

When he finalized the recipe for his hot sauce, he knew that the design of his product had to reflect its unique qualities. As a young entrepreneur, he wanted his brand to convey a message of innovation and determination, so he put his own face on the label – showing the world that regardless of age and background, it’s possible to create something remarkable.

The decision to wear a suit in his label design was equally significant. It was Max’s way of demonstrating that he is serious about his brand and deserves to be taken seriously, despite his youth. The star behind him is an homage to his mom’s favorite book, “The Little Prince,” reminding consumers to enjoy life and follow their hearts, values that resonate deeply with Max, since he wants his sauce to inspire others to appreciate the simple things in life.

To ensure his high-quality ingredients remain fresh and uncontaminated, Max chose glass packaging over plastic, avoiding any risk of flavor alteration. Each flavor of the hot sauce features small tweaks in design to highlight their distinct profiles.

Of the project, Max observes: “These elements of my label design are more than just looks; they tell my business’s story. From paying tribute to ‘The Little Prince}  to using the best packaging to preserve quality, each design aspect shows my dedication to making something truly unique. As a young entrepreneur, creating this hot sauce is my way of showing that even simple things can make a big difference. I hope my journey and my product inspire you to try new things and see the beauty of life’s simplest pleasures.”
