Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv just designed a new visual identity for Hunter Douglas. Founded in 1919 and based in the Netherlands, Hunter Douglas is the world market leader in the design and manufacturing of window covering. CGH was commissioned to develop an appropriate graphic mark that would add elegance and distinction to the familiar name, and which could also serve as an anchor for a complex identity system for the multiple services and sub-brands that Hunter Douglas offers.
The symbol that Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv developed — an elegant, bold, geometric mark that suggests the play of light and shade — can be used effectively in all of the many needed applications for the Hunter Douglas brand.
Comprehensive guidelines were also created to help direct the implementation of the new identity system across the company’s many divisions. The new identity will be launching globally this spring.
