Facebook Seeks Trust In Redesign

As Facebook moves away from being “a public town square” and toward emphasizing private communications, it is deep into a redesign for its website and app.  At a recent annual developer conference, Facebook teased the new look. It includes new features to promote group-based communications, to downplay the news feed, emphasize its Stories offering, and to integrate Facebook’s various messaging services such as WhatsApp and Messenger. As for the new look, it will apparently be spare and stark white as opposed to the current blue-tinted design. At the conference, Mark Zuckerberg told developers that this “will end up creating a more trustworthy platform … everywhere you can see and connect with friends, you’ll be able to see and connect with groups; it’s going to be woven into the fabric of Facebook.”
