Reebok Creative Leader Jumps To Character

Following six years as Head of Global Brand Creative at Reebok, ad agency veteran Chris Bruyere has joined San Francisco-based branding and design shop Character as Managing Director. He is based out of Character’s new Portland OR office and he is tasked with expanding Character’s footprint in the Pacific Northwest. Bruyere spent 14 years on the agency-side, most recently five years at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners and prior at Wongdoody, Deutsch and Dailey & Associates in Los Angeles. In 2011, he joined Reebok, where he is credited with revitalizing the internal creative marketing department and spearheading an effort to help reset and redefine Reebok’s purpose and personality. “Too many companies have the resource, have the people, have the product … without having a true North Star, resulting in ether schizophrenia or worse, mediocrity. I’ve always had an inside-out approach to marketing. Reveal the purpose and the rest will follow.” Character clients include Reebok, Oculus, Google, Peet’s Coffee, and Fitbit.
