Minneapolis agencies Knock, inc. and Treat and Company recently collaborated with Handsome Cycles to creatively reflect and translate select artwork into custom bike designs inspired from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts’ (MIA) permanent collection.
The result: three stunning, fully functional bicycles that challenge what a bike can be, and brings new life to some of the MIA’s most famous pieces. The pieces includeFrank Stella‘s Variation II (pictured above), Claude Monet’s Grainstack, and the 1948, Hans Ledwinka, Tatra T87 sedan.
This project is part of the 100th Birthday Year surprises for the MIA. In celebration of this collaboration, there are limited edition 100 Year Commemorative Bikes available for sale at the MIA Shop and at Handsome Cycles. Home to over 89,000 works of art, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) inspires wonder, spurs creativity, and nourishes the imagination.
