McMillianCo. has been working with the Grand St. Settlement, a legendary non-profit that has long serviced the poor on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The Brooklyn-based firm recently developed the design elements for the JUMPstart Change Rally, an event which celebrated the nonprofit’s 100 years of service in the community. Featuring free food, music, performances, service opportunities, a photo booth, prizes, and more, the event focused on the JUMPstart Change message of getting people to create changes big and small in their communities, working together to make a difference. Among the elements developed by McMillianCo: logo, branding, promotional flyers, event signage and interactive installations, posters and illustrated awards for community leaders.
The biggest undertaking, according to the firm’s blog, was “the JUMPstart Change Wall, an interactive mural installation encouraging attendees to share their dreams and goals for their neighborhoods. The wall poses the question ‘Why do you want to #JUMPstartChange in your community?’ in three languages and was covered in a multicolored rectangle pattern. Stickers let participants write down their answers, resulting in an eye-catching wall that evolved with inspiring messages as the event progressed.”
Soon after the event, McMillianCo. also redesigned the Grand St. Settlement website and blog that focuses on presenting heavy amounts of content in an organized, easy-to-navigate interface.
