Johnnie Walker whisky will be available in a paper-based bottle in early 2021. Brand owner Diageo announced that it has created the “world’s first-ever 100% plastic-free paper-based spirits bottle” in a bid to protect the environment. Diageo’s Chief Sustainability Officer Ewan Andrew said, “We are constantly striving to push the boundaries with sustainable packaging and this bottle has the potential to be truly ground-breaking.” Diageo officials say that they hope that the creation of the bottle will inspire other firms to rethink their package design.
