FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT, SEABERRY DESIGN & COMMUNICATIONS, WASHINGTON DC
Monica Seaberry’s 30-year professional career in painting and graphic design has taken her from gallery owner, college educator, newspaper graphic artist and graphics editor, to president of Seaberry Design. Monica received a BFA in drawing, painting and graphics from the The Ohio State University and an MFA in painting from Syracuse University. Her flat painting style lends itself to information graphics. As an artist for the Syracuse Newspapers, Monica honed her skills in layout and design and added her illustration style to the look of newspapers and magazines. She moved to Washington DC to become the national graphics editor for the Newhouse Newspaper’s Washington Bureau. Her position creating graphics and original publications for 26 Newhouse papers also included revising graphics from the newspapers to fit a consistent style. Monica left the Newhouse Bureau in 2008 to start Seaberry Design. The firm provides complete graphic design and editorial services for print and online campaigns, publications, exhibits and websites, and its success depends on its considerable experience in information design and color usage. The company has grown to a team of collaborators with specialties in design thinking, public relations, writing, editing, videography and photography.
