Ted Bramble has spent the last two decades as an Imagineer and theme park designer, Disney-trained animator, network executive, toy designer, brand developer, digital media head, experiential designer and marketer, and creative director for Disney, ABC, LEGO, Mattel, PlayStation, Sony Pictures, Weedmaps, the U.S. Army, NASCAR, The Oscars, The American Music Awards, Activision, and Timberland. He is currently serving as Creative Director for digital and creative youth marketing agency, Fuel.

Born and raised in Long Beach CA

DID YOU GO TO DESIGN SCHOOL?
I went through the Cal Arts Animation program and trained to be an animator and concept designer.

I played clarinet for 12 years and went to band camp (which was awesome).

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD TV SHOW?
We didn’t have a tv in our house until I was a senior in high school … thanks Dad. So I became a tv executive.

COLOR USED MOST OFTEN IN YOUR DESIGN?
Usually traffic cone orange for personal work and I am big on hot pink for our pitch decks.

SST (it’s a Sony font)

DO YOU HAVE A DESIGN MENTOR OR INSPIRATION?
Leo Monahan, my design teacher who ultimately become my counterpart at Imagineering. He was an amazing paper sculpture artist and designer.

GREATEST STRENGTH/WEAKNESS AS A DESIGNER?
My computer is my workstation and also my place for wasting time.

ADVICE TO A YOUNG DESIGNER JUST STARTING OUT?
Save your money, be cool to everyone, don’t rest on your laurels, don’t work for free, don’t let anyone dismiss creative as “expendable.” You picked the best and worst career in the world, congratulations.
