When I was a kid, my dad once told me that “most children become less creative when they grow older.” This led me to vow to never lose my creative ways, even as I got older. This promise has influenced what I wanted to do. After exploring the sciences and mathematics, I ultimately decided I would be happiest as a graphic designer as it encompasses everything that I enjoy. As a senior at Westphal College, my classes have taught me to not be afraid of experimenting, which led me to favor working with my hands before working onscreen. A 6-month co-op at PJM Interconnection gave me a substantial amount of creative liberty, and let me apply my hands-on approach to several assignments. Studying abroad in London gave me a taste for travel and inspiration for designing in new ways. Hopefully, I will get to travel more in the future and learn more from those experiences.
