ART CENTER COLLEGE OF DESIGN
Diego is a graphic designer and photographer. He is two terms into his BFA in Graphic Design. Diego was first introduced to graphic design working on yearbook spreads in middle school, rapidly becoming design editor. He designed his local community college’s literary magazine for three years, working hard to put Moorpark College’s talent on the map. Diego is currently exploring the intersection between graphic design and sculpture, using 3D space and materials as additional layers to encode meaning and communicate on a multisensorial level. Sculptures have the unique property that they occupy the viewer’s space … Using compositional techniques of the Neo-Concrete movement, he has been in the beginning stages of creating “graphic sculptures,” typographic sculptural installations that communicate with the same high clarity standards of graphic design, but tackling complex problems that traditional graphic design cannot.
