Henry Rivera

CALIFORNIA COLLEGE OF THE ARTS (CCA)

Henry Rivera is a self-described “queer Chicano designer based in California,” currently completing his BFA for Graphic Design. He has created work that ranges from poster design, book and zine making, exhibition design, printmaking, and interactive work using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. His work tries to find a bridge between different processes such as combining digital mediums like web design with more hands on processes like screen printing. Henry incorporates queerness into his designs both in the sense of his identity as well as the idea of the strange or weird, using surrealism and diving into paranormal concepts, and finding the connection between these two “queers”.
