Martin Pohlmann

RINGLING COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN

Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Martin Pohlmann is a graphic designer and a senior with a focus on brand identity, printed matter, and typography. Martin’s passion for design began in Germany where he was captivated by street art and its typographic styles. Soon after moving to the U.S. in 2012, he worked as a freelance designer for a media network based in LA. After his senior year of high school, Martin accepted an internship at MBLM in New York where he worked on brand identities, advertising, and web design. After two more internships in Germany, Martin’s most recent path led him to Ogilvy in Chicago’s 485 design department. Martin’s familiarity in design history and experience in working on two continents, enables him to thread powerful references within his work and create the simplest yet effective solutions for complex problems. A passion for typography has led him to design numerous custom typefaces tailored to projects to give the brand a strong character and unique personality.
