Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum has honored the winners of the 2023 National Design Awards, recognizing design innovation and impact in 10 categories. Now in their 24th year, the program brings national recognition to the ways in which design enriches everyday life.

Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum is creating a Digital curatorial department which will collect and care for born-digital work. The new department is led by Andrea Lipps. It is the first new collecting department in 125 years.

"Design and Healing: Creative Responses to Epidemics" Exhibition will open in December at Cooper Hewitt. It documents how, in response to COVID-19 and other health crises, designers, doctors and others collaborate to innovate.
