VERIDIANA VICTORELLI / BOSTON UNIVERSITY

BOSTON UNIVERSITY

Veridiana Victorelli is a multidisciplinary designer, anxious millennial and control freak. She was born and raised in Brazil and as the eldest sister of four, Veri is a pro communicator and a problem solver. She has a background in marketing and advertising but was always intrigued by the beauty of the creative world. She is the type of person who will make you wait to take a picture before you eat, and will take you to the most amazing and underrated places. As a designer it is no different, she is always fostering interaction, nostalgia, beauty and comfort while trying out every different medium she can justify. Oh, and she’s obsessed with the Riso printer!

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL INSPIRED?

Everyday happenings, family, friends, traveling, reading and music. Most of the time I’m fishing for inspirations in memories, nostalgia and cherished moments with the people I love. Other times, even a nap helps to bring that light bulb idea that we’re always looking for.

DO YOU PLAN TO DESIGN FOR ANY CAUSES OR CHARITIES?

My goal in life is to one day open a school back in Brazil that teaches art and design to kids in marginalized communities. In my growing up it was so important to be exposed to art and music classes, and I don’t know where I would be without it. Design makes us learn that everything is a process, makes us resilient to endure the beginning, middle and end and it also gives us the necessary tools to come up with creative solutions to our everyday problems.

DO YOU FEEL THAT DESIGN SCHOOL HAS PREPARED YOU TO SEARCH FOR AND FIND A JOB?

Definitely. I’ve come a long way since I started my undergraduate studies in Brazil. After graduation I felt lost – like every 20 something year old feels – and had to work a lot in the industry before deciding to come to grad school in Boston. Being in such close proximity to my professors, sharing their knowledge and learning from their experiences, has made me feel more prepared for my future career and I am confident that I can reach places that I once thought were impossible.
