Covidesign Spotlight: Bookmarks For Good

Gianmaria Schonlieb, who leads the creative department of the bikes and scooters new business of Lyft, has launched a personal project called Bookmarks for Good.  On World Book Day, the former ad agency creative for at Wieden Kennedy in Portland OR and B-Reel NYC, is hand painting bookmarks to encourage people to read more while staying at home and to donate for COVID-19. Schonlieb explains: “While staying home, it seems that many people are connecting with simpler things in life. Many are attempting to master those recipes that they never made time for and posting photos of their successes and failures on Instagram. And yes, there is endless entertainment on Netflix, but what about reading a good old book? Since World Book Day was approaching, I thought that a simple, affordable item like a bookmark could be sold to raise a little money for those whose quarantines are less privileged than others. All of the money raised selling the bookmarks will be donated to the NYC COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. I really spend my days between my job during the day and drawing and painting bookmarks at night! The orders have been awesome … and it’s been an awesome project to find inspiration in at this time.”
