Label Captures Parallel Passions of Wine and Art

Wine shelves will look brighter when Beaujolais Nouveau Day arrives on November 16. The reason: St. Petersburg FL artist Ari Azzopardi-Robinson’s work “Candy Coated” graces the label of the 2017 Beaujolais Nouveau from Les Vins Georges Duboeuf. The artwork will appear in the U.S. on as many as one million bottles of the “first wine of the harvest” which debuts, per French law and tradition, at 12:01 a.m. on the third Thursday of November. Viewing wine production as a true art form, founder Georges Duboeuf has launched the Artist Collector Series to illustrate the parallel passions in wine and art. Les Vins Georges Duboeuf has a history of commissioning posters for its Beaujolais Nouveau, a tradition dating back to the 1980s. The 2017 Beaujolais Nouveau brings the idea full circle.
