THE FUTURE OF THE GRAPHIC DESIGN BUSINESS?
Design is key to the success of every company – not only in the classical sense of branding, product and package design, but it also plays a key leadership role in innovation, entrepreneurship, and entire customer experience. To be successful today, designers must not only know how to tactically design a “thing” but also be skilled developing and executing strategies. This requires a solid understanding of business and other disciplines as well. Design education must prepare students to think interdisciplinary and to use design as a key differentiator to impact major business decisions. Achieving this level of intersectionality needs an unprecedented collaboration between industry and academia utilizing technological advancements potentially rethinking policies and approaches.
