Lauren Holden

CRANBROOK ACADEMY OF ART

Lauren Holden is an MFA candidate in the 2D Design Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art (class of 2021). She has completed artist residencies in Newfoundland, Canada and Spokane WA in addition to presenting her research on visual poetry at the Unscripted Digital Arts Festival. Lauren’s work is rooted in literature and her own poetry-writing practice, exploring emotional worlds through the lenses of gender and mental health. By experimenting with interaction, materiality and installation, Lauren’s practice acts as disciplinary research that investigates new ways of engaging with text. Her work has been recognized for its social impact, typography and website design, and her writing on design was published in The Devil’s Artisan: Journal of the Printing Arts.
