Renowned record executive LA Reid and entrepreneur Charles Goldstuck have founded Hitco Entertainment to create, produce, record and distribute new music and artists. Reid, a former CEO of Epic Records, Arista Records, and Island Def Jam, has written and produced for everyone from Bobby Brown, Mariah Carey and TLC to Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez and Kanye West. The new Hitco symbol, designed by Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv, features a bold H letterform, created by the joining together of two #1s — an aspirational image for a partnership dedicated to producing chart-topping music.
Bright warm colors lend panache to the geometric form. Hitco’s stable of artists include Big Boi, DJ Holiday, Klondike Blondie, and Yella Beezy.
Among the projects of the new entertainment label is a new deal with Pilgrim Media Group to develop and produce music-focused shows; an early project is said to be a documentary focusing on the music scene in Atlanta.
