Space Force Launches Logo (Controversy)

Fresh January 5, 2020February 5, 2020 Ilana Greenberg

The U.S. Space Force, now officially the sixth branch of the military, has revealed its official logo – in a tweet, of course, by Donald Trump.  (“After consultation with our Great Military Leaders, designers, and others, I am pleased to present the new logo for the United States Space Force the Sixth Branch of our Magnificent Military!”)  The new branch is responsible for branding, uniform design and other requirements involving a new armed force.  The government says that the logo is based on an existing Air Force command logo and inspired by elements of the NASA logo as well. The social media crowd sees it as suspiciously similar to the fictional trademark from Star Trek, led by former cast member George Takei who asked, jokingly, for royalties.
