A Playful Approach That Supports Health and Wellness
BB&CO™ recently launched a new line of bathing and cleaning products that mix good, clean fun, with researched-backed science. Each product is carefully designed to be gentle enough for baby, but good for the whole family. The brand identity and package design system was created by graphic designer and brand consultant GinaMcKinnaDesign.
BB&CO™ is created by BreathableBaby – a company known for a strong stance on child safety. Thus, the entire line of shampoos, conditioners, and wipes, follow suit are created as scientifically clean products for families – made in the USA, vegan and cruelty free, and free of harmful EDCs (endocrine disrupting chemicals), which interfere with the way the body’s hormones work.
“When we were looking to bring our BB&CO™ vision to life,” says CEO Jen Loesch, “we turned to Gina McKinna. We needed an artful and playful approach to products founded on our core values – safety, science, and social responsibility. Gina not only listened to our goals and understood the research we’d conducted on EDCs, but she researched on her own and developed passion around the concept.”
McKinna adds: “There were many factors to consider when designing this brand and package design — it needed to feel playful yet clean in design, and it needed to visually complement the BreathableBaby® brand. A set of icons were designed to help educate families on scientific ingredients, along with a scannable QR code that connects directly to the BB&CO™ research page. Children’s building blocks serve as grounding design elements in the package design, which reenforce the company’s purpose of educating and building for a better future for generations to come.”
