Daniel Doernemann

Born and raised in Germany by designer parents, Daniel grew up in an environment fueled by creativity. He took his love of design to the esteemed Art Center College of Design in California. In 2007, Daniel moved to New York City to join loyalkaspar where he has helmed numerous brand identities, campaigns and strategy initiatives for diverse brands like ABC, Disney, U2, SYFY, USA Networks, Freeform, A&E & Amnesty International. His work has been on display at the MoMA and was honored by CA, PromaxBDA, D&AD among others.

Yes but not enough; I know how to play a bit of piano and guitar

Oh, too many. Most watched is likely North by Northwest. Movies I wish I made: Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Boogie Nights, Stay, The Royal Tenenbaums, Ex Machina

I love being social. I love media. And I love to keep them separate as much as I can.

Black

I tend to want to design a new one for each project

DOES PRINT HAVE A ROLE IN YOUR DESIGNS?
An aspirational role primarily. I’d love to do more if it. I love working in motion, especially for tv but you don’t get to hold your design in your hands as much or are able to justify buying one of those big archival drawers

Bass, Carson, Rand, Rams. Probably in this order

I think a lot

ADVICE TO A YOUNG DESIGNER JUST STARTING OUT?
Understand there sometimes is a difference between the best design and the right design

Lost. Maybe a director or actor
