Xi Alice Zong is an award-winning graphic designer at Apple. With an MFA degree, AIGA membership and membership in the China Designers Association, she focuses on graphic design, digital design, branding, typography, packaging, web and app design. She is passionate about design, and presenting and supporting creative concepts. Zong works in a very systematic and diligent manner, and has proven to be an independent thinker, a faster learner, and a great team-worker who develops design and branding with a commitment to quality. Her work has been recognized by the A’ Design Awards, IDA, GDUSA, and the National Design Grand Prix. Her designs have been published in the book Chinese Motifs in Contemporary Design and Neo-Chinese Style Branding.
THE FUTURE OF THE GRAPHIC DESIGN BUSINESS?
I believe the graphic design/visual communications business is going to be more powerful in the future. Visual communication is a vital tool for getting a deal over the line and business leaders are fast realizing that. People will need to collaborate and work together on projects in a seamless way, regardless of language barriers, and time zone differences. Businesses will be able to use visual communication tools to assist staff in working together. Better technologies, such as AR and VR devices, are changing the way we see and experience the world. New trends and technology will come to disrupt visual communication every single year, with a constant concern for functionality and sustainability.
