Designing Playful Cities has opened at the Museum of Design Atlanta and will run through May 13. The exhibition takes visitors through installations that present a strong case for designing for play into urban environments. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to engage in play in their day-to-day activities and to inspire designers and developers to create playful spaces — whether by designing proper playgrounds for children or by converting under-utilized spaces into fun and friendly places.
Installations within the exhibition include Delirious Frites by Les Astronautes, Kit of Imagination by Urban Conga, Chandelier Harp by Jen Lewin Studio, and Spun Chair by Thomas Heatherwick. Designing Playful Cities is curated by MODA Exhibition Designer Janelle Miniter with Advisor Cynthia Gentry. Exhibition design is by Susan Sanders.
